Karbon Teraktif Daripada Ubi Kayu

Karbon teraktif daripada ubi kayu (Manihot esculanta) telah disediakan dengan kaedah pernyulingan merosak keadaan vakum. Kemajuan pengaktifan pada pelbagai suhu dan tempoh masa diikuti dengan menentukan nombor iodinnya. Dengan kaedah ini didapati bahawa keadaan optimum penyediaan bagi ubi kayu jenis luhut ialah pada pembakaran selama 3 jam dan suhu 550°C, sementara bagi ubi kayu jenis francis ialah pada pembakaran 3 jam dan suhu 500°C.Nilai nombor iodin bagi bagi karbon teraktif dari ubi kayu jenis luhutialah 572 mg/g dan 525 mg/g bagi ubi kayu jenis francis.Analisis pengaktifan neutron menunjukkan kehadiran unsur bukan organik di sekitar 2 peratus. Activated carbon was prepared from tapioca(Manihot esculanta)by destructive vacuum distillation.The extent of activation at various temperature and time was setermined by iodine number value.It was found that optimum condition for preparation of activated carbon from tapioca is 3 hours and 550°C for luhut and 3 hours and 500°C for francis, resulted in iodine number value of the prepared octivated carbon of 572 mglg and 525 mglg respectively.Neutron activation analysis showed that inorganic content is around 2 percent.Downloads
