Heavy metal pollution is always a threat to the environment especially in the agricultural sector. This study was conducted to examine the content of heavy metals in flavor plants (lemongrass and ginger) grown in ultrabasic soil areas. Physico-chemical parameters (soil pH, organic matter content and electrical conductivity) in soil samples and heavy metal content in both soil and plant samples were studied. Extraction of heavy metals (Co, Cr, Ni, Cu, Pb and Zn) in soil and plants is done using wet digestion method. The oxidizing agents used were 69% concentrated HNO3, 36% concentrated HCl, and 30% concentrated H2O2. The ascending order of average metal concentrations in soil and plants for all stations is Pb<Cu<Zn<Co<Ni<Cr. It was found that the concentration of heavy metals in the soil for each heavy metal Cr, Ni, Co, Zn, Cu, and Pb are respectively 7394.64 - 7835.96 mg/kg, 3405.57 - 3756.78 mg/kg, 262.93 - 339.40 mg/kg, 130.08 - 127.90 mg/kg, 79.06 - 90.45 mg/kg and 16.20 - 26.00 mg/kg. The average concentration of heavy metals in plant sample L was Cr (24.54 ± 24.08b), Ni (18.79 ± 12.18b), Co (0.34 ± 0.90b), Zn (99.88 ± 63.40a), Cu (3.85 ± 1.82ab), and Pb (1.48). While the average concentration of heavy metals in sampel G is Cr (104.14±49.81a), Ni (82.32±49.169a), Co (6.59±5.43a), Zn (13.26±1.73b), Cu (1.60±0.92b), dan Pb (1.46).
