A technique for separating clustered date through the use of n-dimensional ellipsoids surrounding the clusters is discussed. The ellipsoids are minimal in the sense that a maximum number of data points lie on their boundaries. The theory is set up for the computer aided classification of patients according to the presence or absence of a disease, though it is applica ble to other similar situations.Downloads
