Speech acts play a significant role in emotional development. Carrying an emotion affects a person in terms of language and behavior. This is related to the context and situation in understanding the relationship between language and emotion. This study was conducted to identify and analyze speech acts and their relationship with emotional development in the comedy show Sepahtu Reunion Live in 2020. The researchers only limited three episodes. The research method used by the researcher is a qualitative method by using library research method and text content analysis as a research approach. The identified speech acts were classified and analyzed using Searle's (1969) language act theory. This theory highlights five speech act categories which are assertive, expressive, directive, commissive and declarative. The results of the study found that four types of speech acts were used throughout the three episodes of Sepahtu Reunion Live 2020, namely assertive, directive, expressive and commissive speech acts. Assertive language behavior is the most dominant and most frequently used behavior, with 443 frequencies, followed by directive language behavior with 316 frequencies. Next, the third act that is frequently used is expressive language act, which is 91 times. However, declarative speech acts are not used in this show. This finding shows that assertive speech act is most often used because the presentation of the context of the story presented is to convey current issues that can be used as an example and benefit society.
