Aims & Scope

Malaysian Journal of Civil Engineering (MJCE) is a distinguished international, peer-reviewed journal published triannually by the Penerbit UTM Press, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Dedicated to the advancement of civil engineering knowledge and practice, MJCE serves as a dynamic platform for the dissemination of high-quality original research articles, comprehensive reviews, technical notes, short communications, and insightful commentaries.

The journal embraces a broad and multidisciplinary scope, covering all major domains of civil engineering. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: structural engineering, construction materials, geotechnical and soil mechanics, transportation and highway engineering, water supply and resources, hydraulics and hydrology, construction management and IT, environmental engineering, reliability engineering, and emerging technologies relevant to civil infrastructure.

In addition to these core technical areas, MJCE also welcomes scholarly contributions in engineering education, particularly those that enhance teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and student learning outcomes within the field of civil engineering. Topics such as pedagogical innovations, outcome-based education, digital learning tools, and professional skills development are encouraged, provided they maintain strong relevance to civil and structural engineering education.

With a commitment to academic excellence and real-world impact, MJCE aims to foster collaboration between researchers, practitioners, and educators, serving as a vital resource for the global civil engineering community.
